John Smith

John Smith is a lifelong resident of our service territory and a proud member of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA). He and his wife have raised their family here, building a life rooted in agriculture, small business, and community service.

John brings more than 20 years of experience in operations management and financial oversight, including leadership roles in local energy and infrastructure projects. Through his professional background, he has developed a strong understanding of budgeting, long-term planning, and responsible stewardship of member resources.

An active community volunteer, John has served on local nonprofit boards and youth programs, where he focused on collaboration, transparency, and practical problem-solving. He believes electric cooperatives are strongest when they remain member-driven, fiscally responsible, and forward-thinking.

If elected to the DMEA Board, John’s priorities include maintaining reliable and affordable power, supporting thoughtful investments in infrastructure, and ensuring clear communication between the cooperative and its members. He is committed to listening to member concerns and helping guide decisions that balance innovation with long-term stability.

John values the cooperative principles that DMEA was built on and is dedicated to preserving them for future generations.
