DMEA’s Power Supply and What It Means for Western Colorado

Free samples of local beer, wine, and cider at DMEA info night

October 18, 2019 More than a decade of hard work is finally paying off for members of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA). This summer the member-owned electric co-op reached a settlement agreement with its wholesale power supplier, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association. The settlement lets DMEA exit its power supply contract in May 2020. At that time DMEA and its members will officially be receiving energy from a new power supplier, Guzman Energy

What does this change mean for the citizens and communities of Delta and Montrose Counties? DMEA is inviting members to come find that out at a series of community events throughout its service territory.

“This is an exciting time for DMEA and our members, but we realize from the outside, this change can seem confusing and even daunting. We’re inviting our members to join us for an evening to learn more about why DMEA is making the change and how it will benefit our members and communities,” said DMEA Chief Executive Officer, Jasen Bronec.

DMEA Sip & Tell
DMEA members are invited to sip on local wine, beer, or cider while they learn about what changes are headed their way when DMEA transitions from Tri-State to its new power supplier, Guzman Energy. Heavy appetizers will also be provided. Events are free to all members and open to the public. No RSVP is necessary.
