DMEA Seeks Members with Unclaimed Capital Credits

Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) periodically returns capital credits to eligible members as part of its ongoing commitment to the cooperative business model. Before retirement occurs, DMEA seeks members who may have unclaimed capital credits—refunds that couldn’t be delivered due to outdated contact information or inactive accounts.
“Capital credits are a meaningful benefit of being a member of an electric cooperative,” said Chief Financial Officer Bob Farmer. “They represent each member’s ownership in DMEA and reflect our commitment to putting our members first. Returning capital credits is one of the ways we share the financial benefits of the cooperative with the members we serve.”
Unclaimed capital credits can accumulate over time, especially for former members who may have moved out of the service area or forgotten their membership. To help reunite members with their money, DMEA has an online search tool for unclaimed capital credits.
To check for unclaimed capital credits:
Visit dmea.com/capital-credits. Members can search by name and contact DMEA to update contact information.
DMEA will share additional details about the upcoming capital credit retirement once the timing is finalized. Upon retirement of capital credits, active members will receive a check if their refund is more than $50, and a credit on their bill if it is less than $50.
