DMEA's 2019 Board of Directors Elections and Annual Meeting

May 8, 2019 — Five candidates are looking to fill the three seats on DMEA’s Board of Directors that are up for election this year: District 3, District 4, and South Region.

2019 Candidates

  • District 3
Brad Harding – incumbent running unopposed
  • District 4
    Ken Watson - incumbent
    David White
  • South Region
    Jock Fleming
    Ken Otto

DMEA members will have an opportunity to meet their candidates at the upcoming DMEA Candidate Forums:

The candidate forums will be hosted by the League of Women Voters and will give DMEA members time to ask questions, learn about each candidate, and weigh options before voting. Mail-in ballots will be sent to DMEA members in late May. Members can cast their vote by mail by completing and returning their ballots; voting in person at the Annual Meeting; or bringing their completed ballot to either DMEA office and placing it in the secure ballot drop box located in the lobbies.

Not your average Annual Meeting
Live music, magic, carnival games, cotton candy, and face painting: you won’t find these at most co-op annual meetings. But you will at the 2019 DMEA Annual Meeting. The community is invited to join DMEA for an evening of true family fun:

DMEA Annual Meeting
Thursday, June 20
Hotchkiss High School (438 Bulldog St.)
5:00 – 9:00 PM

The event opens at 5:00 PM with a free grilled dinner of local bratwursts with all the fixin’s, plus pie for dessert. During dinner, members can enjoy a magic show by Ty Gallenbeck, who has performed on the popular television show America’s Got Talent and in Las Vegas. Members can also vote for their director representatives between 5:00 and 6:00 PM. The polls will close at 6:00 PM with the start of the business meeting.

A short business meeting will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and then the family fun kicks off! Members will head out to the practice field for live music by Neon Sky and a kid’s carnival, complete with cotton candy, games, and great prizes. Carnival games include putt-putt, darts, ring toss, balloon animals, and more. The children can redeem their game tickets at the prize booth for tons of fun toys, plus have an opportunity to win one of the grand prizes—a Monster Jam Grave Digger battery-powered rider or a Pink Polaris battery-powered rider!

Members are encouraged to bring their own chairs—the first 300 to register at the event will also receive a festival blanket so they can enjoy the tunes on the lawn!
