Orchard City Welcomes Elevate Fiber

Live service now available in parts of Payne, Austin, Cory, & Orchard City

MARCH 31, 2017 – Elevate Fiber, powered by DMEA, kicked off in-home installations in Orchard City last week. This is the second zone within DMEA’s service territory to have access to Elevate’s fiber network and gigabit internet speeds. Last fall, a portion of Paonia became the first area to receive service from Elevate. Now, more than 500 customers are surfing, streaming, working, and playing on the fastest internet connection in town.

Don’t Get Burned by Unsafe Preparation

MARCH 28, 2017 – While controlled burns are an important tool in Western Colorado for managing and restoring natural areas, Delta-Montrose Electric Association is asking members to take extra precaution when burning near power poles or other parts of the power system.

DMEA to Begin Pole Inspections in Montrose Area

MARCH 10, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) will immediately begin inspecting power poles in southwest Montrose. The inspections are expected to last throughout the spring. DMEA is contracting with SBS Inspections to conduct the work.

The co-op is hosting three of their popular morning coffee events during the months of March and April. The public is invited to join the co-op for coffee and breakfast at any of the following locations between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.

FEBRUARY 10, 2017 – Members of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) are invited to join the co-op for coffee and bagels at The Morning Buzz next Friday, February 17, at Backstreet Bagel in Montrose between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. Both DMEA and Elevate fiber representatives will be on hand to answer questions and get to know the membership.

DMEA Seeks Nominees to Fill Charitable Trust Vacancies

FEBRUARY 3, 2017 - Delta-Montrose Electric Association’s (DMEA) Operation Round Up Charitable Trust is seeking to fill three upcoming vacancies for their District 2, District 7, and South region. Trustees serve three-year terms and are limited to a total two terms. They are responsible for distributing donations from the funds collected through DMEA’s Operation Round Up program.

DMEA Announces 2017 Morning Buzz Lineup

JANUARY 27, 2017 – Building off last year’s success, Delta Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is once again inviting members to its unique member outreach program, the Morning Buzz. The co-op is hosting a series of six morning coffee events scattered throughout the service territory. The idea behind the program is to meet co-op members where they are already going.

Deadline Approaching for DMEA Scholarships

The deadline to apply for a Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) scholarship is quickly approaching. High school students and continuing education students whose parents or guardians are members of DMEA are encouraged to apply.

Public Service Announcement: Update on Power Outage Affecting Montrose – Power Restored to Many

More than 6,100 Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) members in Montrose experienced a power outage beginning at 10:19 am. The outage was due to damaged equipment in a substation serving the area. This triggered safety mechanisms on DMEA’s electric system, interrupting power in order to protect the power system. After the cause was determined and adequate testing completed, DMEA was able to reroute power to the majority of affected members as of 12:00 pm.
