$40,000 Up for Grabs to Local Students

Apply Now for DMEA academic scholarships

More than $40,000 is now available to local graduating high school seniors and continuing education students thanks to Delta-Montrose Electric Association’s (DMEA) 2017 academic scholarship program. Recently, DMEA’s Board of Directors voted to increase the impact of the co-op’s scholarship program increasing both the amount of the scholarships and number of awards given.

Orchard City Second Community to Bring Elevate Fiber to Residents

On Tuesday, December 2, Orchard City became the second community to meet its goal and bring ultra-fast internet from Elevate Fiber to residents. Since the launch of Elevate just six months ago, more than 4,500 Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) members have preregistered for service. Although DMEA anticipated high interest in the project, the speed at which people are signing up is exceeding expectations.

DMEA Offices Closing at 3:30pm Friday

Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) will close at 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016. Members can pay their bill online at www.dmea.com or by calling 877-687-3632. Payment kiosks are also located in the entryways of both DMEA offices in Montrose and Read. Thank your for you patience.

DMEA Board of Directors Approves Rate Increase for January 2017

NOVEMBER 28, 2016 – On Tuesday, November 15, the DMEA Board of Directors approved a rate increase to take effect January 1, 2017. No changes were made from the original proposal. Two members were in attendance at the rate hearing and six members filed comment prior to the meeting. The board reviewed all comments.

DMEA Considers Feasibility of Tri-State Exit

NOVEMBER 17, 2016 – On November 2, Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) and Tri-State Generation and Transmission (Tri-State) agreed to collaborate on an analysis that will determine the feasibility of DMEA withdrawing from Tri State’s membership. 

DMEA to Experience Wholesale Power Cost Increase, Proposes 2017 Rate Increase

OCTOBER 10, 2016 – In January 2017, Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is set to receive a 4.3% increase in wholesale power costs from Tri-State Generation and Transmission. This increase, coupled with the need to accurately recover the cooperative’s fixed costs, has resulted in the need to increase electric rates in the New Year. 

October Marks National Cooperative Month

OCTOBER 7, 2016 – October kicks off National Cooperative Month and members of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) are invited to celebrate during the co-op’s annual Member Appreciation Days:

Wednesday, October 26 at the Read Service Center from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Friday, October 28 at the Montrose Headquarters Office from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

DMEA Member Forums Next Week

SEPTEMBER 23, 2016 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) will hold its fall Member Forums next week at the following times:

Wednesday, September 28 at 4B’s Brewery in Cedaredge, CO from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 29 at 2 Rascals Brewery in Montrose, CO from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

DMEA Seeking Members with Unclaimed Capital Credits

SEPTEMBER 19, 2016 – DMEA is looking for members and former members who have unclaimed capital credits remaining at DMEA. We have previously retired (paid back) these credits, but have been unable to locate some members due to invalid or outdated mailing addresses or death.

DMEA Inspecting Poles on Grand Mesa Next Week

SEPTEMBER 16, 2016 – Beginning the week of September 19, 2016, Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) will be inspecting power poles on the Grand Mesa. DMEA is contracting with SBS Inspections to conduct the work.
SBS Inspections may need to enter onto members’ properties to complete the inspections. Their vehicles will be clearly marked with DMEA contractor labels. Work will begin in the northern section of DMEA’s Grand Mesa territory starting at Old Grand Mesa Road.
