CO-OP VOTE ON THE HORIZON

One contested district in DMEA's 2018 Board of Directors Election

MAY 5, 2018 – Of the three board seats up for election this year for Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), only one remains contested. Two candidates will vie for the District 1 seat; incumbent, William Patterson and challenger, Edward Ulibarri. The following candidates in District 2 and District 5 are running unopposed and will be deemed elected at the DMEA Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 14 at the Montrose Pavilion, 4:30 – 8:00 p.m.

KEN WATSON APPOINTED TO DMEA'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

APRIL 25, 2018 – Last night, at their regular meeting, DMEA’s Board of Directors appointed Ken Watson to fill the vacant District 4 board seat. Watson was one of five candidates who submitted interest in the open position.
 
“I’d like to thank all of our candidates. We had a talented pool and it was a tough decision for the board,” said DMEA CEO, Jasen Bronec.
 

High Winds Hit Hard

DMEA works to repair damaged transmission line

APRIL 20, 2018 – Last night approximately 4,300 members experienced a power outage when high winds damaged a transmission line serving a large portion of rural Delta county. The outage began at 8:40 p.m. and power was restored to all members by 10:46 p.m. Work continues today to repair the damaged transmission line.

ELEVATE FIBER HONORED AS NEW BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

JANUARY 24, 2018 – The Montrose Chamber of Commerce recognized Elevate Fiber as the 2017 New Business of the Year at its annual gala last Saturday. Elevate’s president, who is also the Delta-Montrose Electric Association CEO, Jasen Bronec, accepted the award, highlighting Elevate’s long-term vision.
 

ADVENTURE CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Community participation and support propel Elevate Fiber.

DECEMBER 1, 2017 – The results are in and smiles abound. Elevate Fiber announced the winners of its annual Fall Photo Adventure and Coloring Contest last week. Members were asked to submit their best Colorado adventure photos for a chance to win. Kids, 10 and under, showed off their artistic skills with a coloring contest.

Apply now for DMEA's Youth Leadership Programs

NOVEMBER 10, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is now accepting applications for their 2018 summer youth leadership programs. DMEA will sponsor one student to attend the National Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. and three students to attend the Colorado Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp near Steamboat Springs, CO. Each program is all-expenses-paid. Current high school students between the ages of 16 and 18, as of June 2018, are encouraged to apply.

ELEVATE, HORSEFLY TEAM UP FOR COMMUNITY INFO NIGHT Public invited to Elevate Brew Info Night Friday, November 3, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

OCTOBER 31, 2017 – Elevate Fiber and Horsefly are once again teaming up to help bring gigabit internet to more neighborhoods in Montrose. This Friday, November 3, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the pair is hosting the Elevate Brew Info Night at the Brew and Bogey at Black Canyon Golf Course. 

Get Ready for Fun at DMEA Member Appreciation Night

SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is back again this year with a new and improved member appreciation event. Just as they do every October, the co-op is celebrating National Cooperative Month with something special just for members. This year, DMEA is inviting members to Member Appreciation Night at the Rec on Friday, October 13, from 4:00 PM to close at either the Montrose Community Recreation Center or Bill Heddles Recreation Center.

ANOTHER ZONE HITS THE MARK: MOMENTUM GROWING FOR ELEVATE FIBER

JULY 27, 2017 – Yet another community can now boast that it has access to gigabit internet. Just this month, Elevate Fiber announced that a zone in Cedaredge met its goal for preregistrations and kicked off construction. Owned by Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), Elevate has made phenomenal progress in building a fiber optic network throughout the co-op’s service territory.

Don’t Be Fooled By Phone Scams DMEA members being targeted by criminals

JULY 10, 2017 – Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) has received numerous reports from members of an active phone scam throughout their service territory over the past week. Callers are claiming to be DMEA representatives, stating members are past due on their account, and threatening to disconnect service if members do not pay.

The co-op urges members to remain cautious and follow the tips below to protect themselves:
