Patterson, Hines, and Collins Elected

The results of DMEA's 2012 board election were announced at the end of the co-op's annual business meeting held at the Montrose Pavilion, June 14, 2012.  Election credentials committee chairperson, Gail Marvel reported that 5,304 valid ballots were cast this year.  Chairperson Marvel also announced:

  • - In DMEA District 1, Virgil Turner received 2,381 votes; William N. Patterson received 2,748 votes. William N. Patterson will serve on DMEA’s board representing District 1.
  • -In DMEA District 2, Tammy Theis received 1,127 votes; Kay Heinschel received 1,293votes; incumbent Brent Hines received 2,686 votes. Brent Hines will continue to serve on the board representing District 2.
  • -In DMEA’s District 5, incumbent, Marshall Collins did not draw a challenger and received 4,383 votes. Marshall Collins will continue to serve on DMEA’s board representing district 5.

The new DMEA board for the upcoming year convened the morning of Friday, June 15 for the election of its officers: Glen Black will serve as board president; Nancy Hovde will serve as vice-president; Mike Sramek will continue as the association’s secretary. Marshall Collins will continue as DMEA’s representative on the board of directors of Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc., DMEA’s wholesale power provider.
