Page 1 of 5 So, how does DMEA calculate what I owe them on my bill anyway? From time to time, you may have asked yourself this question. We’d like to help you answer it!
In helping you understand your bill, please note the highlighted illustration of the top half of page 2 of your bill. This section of your bill contains important details used to generate your account billing summary found on page 1, e.g. the “Billing Summary” and “Account Balance” sections.

First, let’s go through a brief overview of each of the highlighted areas:
1. Here we find what tariff or “rate class” DMEA has used to calculate what we have been billed for the electricity we have used. We also find the first and last day of the period for which we have just been billed, along with the reading found on our meter on those days.
2. Here we find the calculation details for every “charge code” used to generate the bill we have just received. In other words, this “line item detail” section breaks out every part of how DMEA has arrived at the total amount we owe.
3. Here we find some historical perspective, presented graphically, of how we are doing by showing us the electricity we have used over the last year month-by-month.
4. Here we find some more historical perspective, presented in a table, of how we are doing by comparing some important information for this billing period, our last billing period, and this billing period a year ago.
Now that you have gone through this brief overview, if you would like to understand each of these highlighted areas in more detail, please follow the links provided.
We hope you have found this information helpful in understanding your bill from DMEA. We welcome any comments you may have on anything else we can do to help you more. Please feel free to contact us.
