 About GeoExchange Minimize

Contact DMEA at (970) 249-4572 or (970) 874-8081 and speak with one of our Energy Services Specialist about the benefits of installing a GeoExchange system in your home.

GeoExchange is the most energy-efficient, earth-friendly way to heat and cool your home.  The technology relies on the year-round temperature of the earth to heat and cool homes.  The systems look much like a traditional furnace except for a water-filled loop pipe that is buried in your yard, horizontally or vertically.

Key Benefits

·         Most energy efficient and environmentally friendly system available, according to the U.S. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency

·         Most comfortable heating/cooling system available with low noise, no drafts, and even temperatures

·         Healthiest heating/cooling system available because constant air movement allows for thorough  filtration

Energy Savings

·          Most cost-effective heating/cooling system available, with:

o    Lowest operating cost

o    Lowest life cycle cost (less maintenance, fewer replacements, etc.)

·          Up to 70% less expensive to operate than propane furnace

·         Up to 50% less expensive to operate than natural gas furnace

·         Energy savings potential varies depending on

o    Home size, design and construction quality

o    Existing/alternative heating and cooling system

Environmental Benefits

·         For every unit of energy into a GeoExchange system, 3 additional  free units of energy are transferred from the ground.

·         Even when electricity is generated by coal, the total pollution from burning coal per unit of heat in the home is less than from a conventional furnace.

System Investment

·         DMEA's Loop Tariff eliminates about half the total upfront cost

·         30% uncapped federal tax credit

·         Co-op cash rebates up to $1,050

·         Save $1,000 - $4,000 every year vs. propane, electricity, or natural gas
